Mah Kitties

037

Awwww.... they're so cute!
The exposure here adds some interest. I like how it's bright in some places and still dark in others. The red of the sofa also looks cool.
Thoughts?

This was a hard shot to take. The water and sky were very bright, and I wanted to still get a good range showing how one side of the lagoon was brighter and the other was a bit shadier. I love how the colors turned out. =)
Hope you like it too

More Busyness

It's been a long, incredibly busy weekend, and a crowded first few days this week. As always sorry for not updating, but until readership gets out of single digits I really see no need to sacrifice school and personal obligations to write. I know it only takes 5 minutes, but it seems like I haven't had any time to spare recently. I'm finally working again; tutoring. Right now I only have 2 clients, which is fine because I really only have a few free hours a week that I could work. Making some decent money though, and it always feel good to help others.

Here's today's picture

It's one of my favorites right now. Not much to say about it. I like the colors reflecting off the water best.

Update

Round the bend
- Round the Bend

I feel like I use the city alot as a prop. I'm really fortunate to live close by to it, and have such a nice view. I need to retake this shot with my new camera and maybe change the setup a bit. Have someone sitting there looking out at the city up on the top path, or even on the rocks. Maybe at sunset also... We'll see.

New Camera

So, the new camera I got is a Sony H5. I think it was released in 06, so it's not too old, and still very top of the line. It's 7.2 megapixel, and most notably it has a 12x optical zoom ( 36-432mm equivalent (12x optical) F2.8-3.7 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens ). It also has a nice huge 3 inch lcd screen on the back. It's definitely a step up. I should have some new test shots up on Thursday. I got out last night at sunset and messed around with it for a bit. I'm really happy with how it's working. Looks solid. =)

Falling Behind

This past week has been busy. Much busier than is good for a person's sanity. I apologize as always for slipping behind. As a token of my goodwill I present three, yes, count them, three pictures.
Here goes:

Pillow
- Pillow

I like the gold lighting here. It's always nice to set things up right with a white balance that looks good. It helped alot that the shade for the lamp is yellowish also. It gives the lighting a sunny look. I also like the shadows on the edge of the pillow. Very fun

012
- California Snow

The sharpness here isn't great, but I still like this shot. Taken around Christmas time when everyone is decorating.

034
- Murk

The color here turned out really nice. It's an edge of a pipe that takes water into and out of the lagoons that are around the peninsula I live on. The sun reflecting through the water looked very neat, as did the algae on top of the pipe. It was very slippery though!
