Downtime

Sometimes I hate computers. They work perfectly 97% of the time, giving you the impression that they're an object you can put your trust in. They want you to think that you can always rely on them. It's at that moment that they turn on you.

Our computer monitor has been acting up the past few weeks. We always turn it off when we're away from the computer, to save energy see? Then for some reason it started taking longer and longer to tun back on. Id fiddle around with it for a bit and it would always eventually come back after a few minutes. Anyways, the just of the problem is this: When the monitor is powered on, it'll work perfectly fine.... for 2 seconds. It'll then turn off... halfway. If I turn the brightness and contrast to full, I can see a kind of "ghost image". This is a live image, not something "burnt" onto the screen when it died. It's not clear enough to work with though. It's as if the monitor is taunting me. Placing all those articles and videos just out of reach. So basically we've given up. No one is really checking emails anymore since you only have time to read half a sentence each time you turn the monitor on. Writing things isn't a problem as you might have assumed already. Getting to this point took a while though. I think It took about 3 resets to log in, then 2 to get here, then 1 to set the formating, and after I'm done it'll take 12 or so to scan it over for any typos.

Anyways, just a heads up that there'll be no updates for a while. Feel free to browse the backlog for now. Hang in there,
Austin
